So she is— I don't know if I want to live in a world where that is the tradition, but okay. So she is about to walk down the aisle and she kind of hesitates off the jump. And our good old Alice is like, hey, did you forget you're getting married today? Got to take a step. She decides, fuck, let me start walking down this aisle. She sees now finally that all these things that Ayante has picked for the day that she's sort of been ignoring The color scheme. The reason I'm bringing this up is as she's walking down the aisle, already kind of second-guessing herself, she sees red flowers sprinkled throughout the aisle, which triggers her to think of the blood that she saw under the mountain. Mm-hmm. And so she keeps walking slowly down the aisle because she sees Tamlin. She's like, oh, he looks so beautiful. And she's trying to push herself to do it, but everything in her body is saying, this is wrong, this is wrong, this is wrong.

1:55 Um, so much so— oh, oh, oh, mind you, they had 300 guests at this wedding. Oh yeah. 300, and they were all from Tamlin's court. So as she's walking down the aisle, seeing the red flowers, all these people are staring at her, and it reminds her of how they stared at her under the mountain. So she's just triggered on her wedding day. So mental state, that's where she's at. She's like, fuck. She gets towards the end of the aisle and freezes. Tamlin steps forward. He's like, hey girl, what's up? Tries to like— Are you coming, bro?

2:35 Like, yeah, yeah, yeah. You here? What? This is what we're doing. And she steps back and in her mind she is just screaming for help. Like, somebody help me, somebody help me, someone help me. Um, and that's— isn't that when the incredible bond between her and Rhysand came into play? Yeah, it's always been there, but he hears her. Yeah, so he hears her begging somebody for help. She's like, help me, save me, get me out, end this. And all of a sudden In walk— well, in appears Rhysand in his fucking glorious black suit and like shadows, and he like bursts through into the ceremony and everybody's like, oh, it's Rhysand!

3:27 Ianthi's like, I'm fucking out of here. She jets out and Tamlin's like, no, like tries to be like, yo, let us finish the ceremony first and then you can take her. Get the fuck out of here, dude. Get the fuck out of here. Suck a dick. Literally suck a dick. Yeah. And Rhysand is the lord of the Night Court. Um, one thing, like a side note, and I don't really know what it means yet, but in reading these books again, whenever Rhysand is gonna do something or he shows up somewhere, I feel like there's this— there's 2 things that, uh, Sarah J. Maas puts in And it's like he puts his hands in his pockets. Yes.

4:08 Or he's picking a piece of lint, like this invisible lint off of his clothes. I don't know what that means yet, but in that day, he puts his hands in his pockets, and I fucking love Rhysand because he's like— because couldn't you imagine, like, your mate is begging for help, you show up, he knows Feyre is his mate this whole time. He knows this. And he took the three months because I, uh, yeah, it's revealed in this book later on. But he took took that time because he was actually never gonna go. He thought she was happy with Tamlin, but that's his mate. So he was suffering, but he was gonna take that burden as long as she was happy. So you imagine finally you hear your mate calling for you. Oh wait, hold on, hold on. Hold on. Wait. Hold on. Hold on.

5:00 She he can't no no I just no here's why because if he really knew that she was happy and he was going to do the thing he was just going to let her get married then what happened with the bond she he would have known through the bond that she was fucking miserable oh no but that's what I'm saying. That's what I'm saying. In real time, is Rhysand an asshole? I mean, yeah, but, but that's what I'm saying, right? Like, he, he was always, I guess, sort of listening through the bond, but he took 3 months because she just was in denial. She was just like, no, I'm happy.

Like, obviously they were happy enough to have gotten engaged within 2 months. So I think he only comes because he starts to hear her being unhappy. That's, that's my theory. You don't think— no. But now I'm thinking that because they have the bond, the mate bond and the, the bond from the tattoo, If he's been watching and listening this whole time, then he knows she's fucking miserable. And that's— yeah, he comes because she calls him.

6:27 Yeah, and I think that's what it was, is that he was waiting for her to call him and didn't want to take action upon himself. He wanted it to be her choice and not his, which is also kind of manipulative in its own fucked up kind of way. You think so? I don't know. Yeah, because like, they had, they had this bond, right? And they— how do I put this into fucking words? They had this bond and like they can both feel it, right? Because they can feel it through that, that tattoo. But I also think that like Rhysand had some fucked up childhood trauma also that was showing up with this, with this relationship he wanted to have with Feyre. He didn't know how to act upon it in a positive way. I, I don't know, it's kind of fucked up. Okay, so back on track. Sorry. No, no, no, you're fine, you're fine. Let's keep talking and diving into this. So she's got a tattoo, but that tattoo is an agreement, a bargain she made. That's not the bond. That is an agreement that she'll spend one week every month with Rhysand. He can cash it in whenever he wants. But he can— but he can— He can see through the eye. He can observe to a point. Yeah. And he can manipulate it to like— because he created the pain when she was doing the second trial or whatever.

But their mating bond is like— she keeps pushing off— for me, she keeps pushing off the mating bond as the bond in the tattoo because she doesn't know about the mating bond. Right? Even though she feels, when she died, she feels that home is on the other side of that bond, right? Whatever. There's still stuff there. But for me, for this whole thing, it's just that— I think— Before, I would have said Rhysand was waiting for her to have her choice to give her advocacy— not advocacy. What's the word I'm looking for?

What about what I said made you rethink that? Because I agree with what you just said as being what's happening. So now I'm curious what why the change of heart now?

And I have some pretty like controversial ideas in some of the other books that I can't really put in now, but it really resonated with me when G was like, uh, that's a little bit manipulative. A little. Yeah, I don't understand that. I don't, I don't, uh, I don't share that sentiment. I think, uh, for me it's what you just said.

They could have been. She could have been like, oh, we're back in the Spring Court, everything is great, we're fucking every day, everything is fantastic. And then at 3 months he's like, yo, gotta go, there's some beasts coming in here, you can't come though. You know, like, we don't know, right? So in my brain, I, I see Rhysand's mating bond as the lifeline. He can always hear her because she doesn't know how to put up her shields yet. Like, he's hearing— Why doesn't So, but why doesn't he step in and do something? Like, well, he does, right? Like he, yeah, don't play. My theory is that at the wedding is the first time she shouts for help. Help me, help me, help me. Someone get me outta here. Save me from this. Like, end it all. Just get me outta here.

11:11 And he goes, heard. Like flies through. Yes. Like forever and ever until G just dropped that little nugget of like, well, But what about before? What about months 0 to 3? It's not like she just immediately developed in 2 weeks before the wedding the anxiety and the nerves of puking and losing weight. Like, that kind of thing takes time usually. Yeah. And like, that sort of spiral takes time and, uh, punishing yourself takes time. So like, I don't know, she's fucking miserable. She's fucking miserable.

He did something without her knowing that it was him. Oh, so you're saying like he could have intervened like how he did with the tattoo on her hand and not like be in person saying, yo girl. Right. She thought it was Tamlin, but it was, it was Rhys that was sending the music. Maybe there was, maybe there was. Why wouldn't he? Why wouldn't he? Or maybe that's what this book 6 or 7 or whatever is gonna be like, those little snippets of time or whatever, but Yeah, maybe there was a, you know, I don't like a certain distance. You know, music happened when they're in the same location. This time she's in the Spring Court, he's in the Night Court.

Yeah, yeah, I, I think he was trying to be respectful of her too, right? Because she's trying to figure her own shit out. Yeah. But when she really, really, really needed help, he was there. Yes. He was there. And like, he, he saw things in her that she didn't really see for herself. And maybe innocently— I can't say that. Anyways, I'm not gonna say the word because I can't say it. Um, announced to her.

16:00 They're all trying to recover from Amaretto and her bullshit. But I, you know, the fact that Rysand hates, hates Tamlin— hates, and that's a strong word— but like, he really hates him. Um, he wanted to save this woman, this woman that he fell in love with underneath the mountain and never even like gave it 2 thoughts. He wanted to help her. And like, yeah, while some of the stuff that happens later on in the book, I felt very— felt like she was being manipulated and it pissed me off a lot.

16:40 He wanted to save her. He wanted to make her, make her heart happy. She— he wanted her to be able to breathe because at that point, like maybe 5 feet from Tamlin on the wedding day, she, she just couldn't do it. No, she was gonna say no. She was about to say, no, I can't. And then he's like, boop. Um, I do love how much of an asshole he was as he swoops in on their wedding day. He's like, oh, was I interrupting something? My B. He's like, sorry, I thought it was over. He's like, at least Farah seemed to think so. It's like, fuck. I love that he walks in.

17:23 He comes because he is called. He swoops her up and takes her to the Night Court. And what a beautiful place that is. Oh, very beautiful. Like perched up on this ledge and it's Cold as fuck outside, but— excuse me, I burped— very subtropical inside. Don't burp into the mic. Oh, I'm so sorry. Can you hear me now? She said burp into the mic. I'm not gonna burp in the mic, okay? I won't even fart in the mic, okay? Number one, I gotta stand up, stand on my tippy toes to have to make that happen. Don't fart in the mic, you'll get some sort of something on your face. Thrush.

18:05 Hand, foot, and mouth disease. Pink eye. Pink mouth. Will my tongue fall out? Well, I hope not. If it hasn't yet, it might not ever. Yeah, I'm like, I wanted to go to the Night Court. I wanted to be where Feyre was. I want to be where the Night Court is. I just, I loved how he saved her, and that, that's what made me happy. Mm-hmm. Yeah, the Night Court's described like this beautiful, open, airy place on top of a mountain, and it's cold, but somehow, like you said, it's nice and warm, so it's comfortable. And I think it, like, it's the complete opposite of the Spring Court for, for her.

18:58 She's in this like this breathable area where she can like breathe for the first time. She doesn't feel like there's shit coming down on her, but she's pissed, right? Holy shit, you came and you took me from my wedding day. Even though she was fucking asking to be saved, she doesn't want to acknowledge it. She doesn't want to admit that she asked that. And when he shares like, yo, I heard you fucking yelling, dude, like, you're welcome. Yeah, like she— and parts of the book, she's like super ungrateful. And that kind of pissed me off too. I'm like, these people fucking saved you from a life of hell with Tamlin, and you're being a little bitch. Yeah, she's torn. She's clearly battling with herself, right? Like, fuck, I'm not supposed to want this, but I do.

19:49 Mm-hmm. And that is probably because that's your mate, you fucking dumb bitch. Anyways. So here's what I have though. Uh, the atmosphere is tense off the back. Rhys immediately jumps into the quote-unquote asshole role of like challenging her, kind of poking at her, pushing her buttons to get a rise out of her. Yeah, because she's like in non-emotion, non-feeling mode. Yeah. He just wants her to see— he just wants to see her have some sort of emotion anymore. Any emotion is better than none. Yeah. He tells her, you look like the doe-eyed damsel he and that simpering priestess want you to be. Like, he's immediately like, who the fuck are you? You look ridiculous.

20:36 And, um, he like starts poking at her. Does Tamlin know or ask you about your nightmares? And he just keeps at it. And then finally, uh, I think, you know, she, she about has enough. He walks away and like, that's the first kind of glimpse we get into like besides the fact that she's strong and she's bending and breaking shit, you start to see that like she's got something else there where she takes off her shoe and throws it at him so fast that he can't even react, right? The super high lord of the Night Court has no idea the shoe's coming at him, and then it hits him on the back of the head and he's like, what the fuck was that? Do you think that he just dismisses her, or do you think that she couldn't possibly do anything to him, or do you think that he Uh, eggs her on and then gives her an opportunity?

21:25 I think probably the second he eggs her on, but also I think it caught him by surprise just how fast she could be. Because then she throws the second shoe, before she does it he says, don't even fucking think about it. And she's like, I'm doing it. Chucks the shoe, and this time he catches it. And when he catches the shoe, it disintegrates into dust. So I think he egged her on because throughout their relationship, he eggs her on. Like, he gets her angry to see what she can do. And it's probably— I think I related it to anger is like the quickest emotion to sort of like grasp onto for her. Mm-hmm.

22:08 And so he knows what works. Yeah, he watches and he listens. He did listen, unlike Tamlin, who didn't listen. Tamlin! He didn't listen, but like Rhysand listens, and he listens with all, like, all of his emotions and all his, his powers. He feels her in ways that Tamlin could never feel Feyre. Tamlin has, in my opinion, never had any sort of adverse experience on such a level that Rhysand has. And I think that because Rhysand was raised the way he was raised and then lived the life that he lived and then got stuck under the mountain as Amaretto's, like, favorite toy.

23:10 Mm-hmm. He really is able to— I don't know, he's able to see that, to, to listen with all of his emotions and to feel with all of his emotions or whatever, especially now that she's dead. But I don't think that— I think that that just shows more of the naivete, how naive, uh, Tamlin is because he's never had any sort of adverse experience. Yeah. Do we even ever hear about Tamlin's mom? Now that you bring that up, I don't know. I'm gonna have to go look later. Yeah. I mean, you're tapping right onto it, right? Like Rhysand was raised by a strong woman.

Kick your ass and take that shit. In my brain, yeah, exactly, exactly. And then in my brain, Tamlin's like training, quote unquote, with, like, as the prima donna man-boy. Well, he's the youngest. Yeah. But so he's the baby, so he gets everything. By, like, dicks. Angry, grouchy dicks. Angry, grouchy dicks. No, I think you're onto something there. I think that that is part of why Rhysand can tap into that stuff. You know, he knows what, what a strong woman looks like. And he knows, I think he shares some of like the feeling of, you know, he was Amaretto's whore.

25:01 Feyre is like Tamlin's like little doll. Like, I think there's something there where he can understand her better. Yeah. And I think they were both really fucked by Amaretto more so than Tamlin. I think Tamlin was just a little bitch. Oh, he was. Yeah. Super little bitch. I'm still pissed from the first book where he like sat there and did absolutely fucking nothing. Like a lump on a log. A lump on a log. Yeah, I love— more reasons why I love Rhysand. I love that he challenges Feyre. I love that from the moment she's in his court, he doesn't hide anything from her. He's answering any questions she asks. He lets her overhear conversations. He like— there's no secrets.

25:45 in terms of what he's— what's happening in his court. And I think that was the complete opposite of Tamlin fucking glamoring people so she didn't know that they were— like, it was just the complete opposite. Yeah. And what the other thing I, I liked about it, that too, is like she finally felt like she had a family, right? For months and months and months, like, she's in this immortal world away from her family It felt like she left a controlling sugar daddy that wouldn't allow her to have any friends. And here comes her Sand and introduces him to all sorts of people and all sorts of adventures. Yeah, yeah, let's talk about that shit, dude.

26:30 After— Make sure she eats something. Yeah, yeah, he immediately starts. He's like, hey, you could be here. Uh, first thing we're gonna do is we're gonna teach you how to read. Right. He's— he starts writing her little funny, fucking hilarious, dickish little letters for her to read. Like, you look absolutely delicious, Feyre. Like, she has to learn how to read that, but he just keeps training her, helping her. Then he trains her how to raise her shield so that, you know, she can kind of protect her own thoughts. She doesn't have an open door to whatever's going on there. And again, completely— this is her first visit. He's already doing the things that she needs and she's able to know what she wants to know. Like, complete difference.

27:17 And I loved how, like, when she was— like, when they were there, how she got introduced to Mor, right? Yeah. And, and their connection. And it was like a sister that she had been grieving for and wanting for, for the months that she had been in this, um, immortal land. And I, I loved that connection between the two of them. And I also like Mor because she's a little bit like me— super sarcastic, doesn't really give two fucks, and, um, you know, does things the way she wants to do them. Yeah, so Mor is Morrigan. She's Rhysand's cousin.

27:58 not necessarily by blood. They were raised together. Um, you had said something earlier where she feels like she has family. I think Mor was like the first person she meets in Rhysand's court besides Rhysand, right? And immediately, um, Feyre feels less alone, I guess. Like, Mor is like super open, sarcastic, like— I think, uh, Farrah says, it's nice to meet you. And Mor goes, you're lying. It's not nice to meet me. Like, you hate us, right? But like, she's just real with her. And I think that's the start of like Farrah realizing that there are people that care about her and like care about what she's going through and how she feels.

28:44 Yeah, I love Mor. Mor was like the MVP of this book. And I, and I think also that like they, they can feel for Feyre, right? Because they have their own past trauma and they've been through like similar trials and tribulations as to what Feyre's been through. And remember, Feyre's still young, like even in fairy years she's still young. I felt like, um, Mor had like a very protective net around her. Yeah, I think you're right. I love Mor. So she's there, she's learning how to read, she's fucking training how to put up her walls, and that's her first visit to the Night Court, which is different than Velaris.

29:30 Um, but yeah, time comes to an end, she has to return to the Spring Court. Uh, here's where I'm gonna start to get real fucking feisty. You? Fucking feisty? Never. One time. First of all, I hated how bitchy Farrah was. She's like, "I want to go home. I'm ready to go home." Oh, side note, side note, side note. Another another way that Risan and Tamlin are completely different is that Risan says, "Hey, while you're here, you're part of my court. Nobody will hurt you. Walk around, take a look around, like do whatever you want. You're not a prisoner here. You are." going to be treated with respect, et cetera. Right.

30:11 And she's like, well, if I can go anywhere I want to go, I want to go home. Now it's time for her to go home. And I think Rhysand to some degree is trying to see if she's ready to go back. Because the assumption is you, you, you left on your wedding day before the I dos. Are you all right? Are you going to be ready to confront that? Because that's surely got to be what we're going to talk about when you return. No, it's fucking not. He brings her back to the Spring Court, and the first thing that really gets discussed is, what did you see? What'd you hear? What happened? Who was there? Yeah. They start interrogating— they, Tamlin and Lucien, start interrogating Feyre to get as much information from her as they possibly can, because nobody knows what the Night Court is about, what happens there. So Feyre becomes a pawn in the game.

31:01 They want to know what she knows. Yeah, like, like she's their spy. Yeah, fuck you. Yeah. And I was super fucking like, in rereading this book, that obviously is upsetting. But as he's like sort of doing this, she starts like taking note of like her surroundings and seeing that he has destroyed so much of this castle. after she left. So he's clearly got anger issues, right? Like, this guy. Yeah, think. Yeah, so like, that's like one of the first— When does he— does he blow up the office in this book? Yes. Yes. Okay. Yes. So they interrogate her. She also, mind you, is like, hey, like, let's just go like make love, reunite the way You would think a reunion would be after not seeing each other and this very traumatic event, but no, they question her.

32:00 All that bullshit happens. Um, I don't, I don't remember if Lucien treated her any differently. I think he was again just eating Tamlin's ass. Like, yeah, let's, we got to do it now before you forget anything. Like, let's sit you down and But like nobody takes note of like what she really needs in that moment. Yeah, but I think she sees differently a little bit because she's been treated differently for a moment, and so she starts seeing the change in herself. Yeah, independently. She's like, hey, Rhys thinks I have powers, I should be training. Yes. And instead of saying, oh, like let me investigate that more, Tamlin's like, fuck, Fuck you. If that's true— It's never gonna happen. Yeah, if that's true, now we need to protect you more now than ever, and you cannot leave the house because if any of the other High Lords figure this out, you're in danger. So you need to stay. Like, he just closes the walls in on her more, and that shit drove me fucking crazy.

33:12 Yeah, like, fuck him. Because truly, it just all goes back to him and being, um, being a dick and being like, I'm in control, you have no say here, you do as I say, not as I do, blah blah blah. Yeah, and I hate how he was like, she's like, oh my God, did you destroy this this office? He's like, I destroyed half the castle. He's like, um, like oh, I couldn't, I couldn't keep my anger together. Yeah, it's her fault. Let's just gaslight a little bit more. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Her fault that like I did this because I was so mad because you did the thing.

33:59 Yeah, yeah. So while she comes back, something else that happens besides being interrogated is they have something called the tithing. Where? Oh, the tithe. The tithe? Is it tithe or tithe? Um, which I think is another way that she, I think, is starting to see just how different Tamlin is from Rhysand, because in Rhysand's world, people live and come as as they please. Like, his job is to provide for his people. And on Tamlin's side, Tamlin's like, give me some tax money. Right. You gotta pay for my protection and to be a part of this. And if you can't pay, then we're gonna have problems. And her sitting there and watching that is when she makes a move that later on there's a reward to, where there are these water rates that Remind me of mermaids that can't pay the tax. And instead of showing mercy, Tamlin's like, you better— I forget however many days or weeks or something like that. Yeah, he's like, you have until this time. And remember this little nugget for later on in the book. Yeah, well, this is like the first time that I see that she blatantly goes against what he has said and done. And I was

35:31 like, oh, bitch, yes! What are we gonna do now? What is he gonna do now? You're right. Because you just see it coming. You see the escalation coming. Like, how people— okay, everybody lives their own life, but I saw all this shit coming from, like, the middle of book 1, even though I really wanted it to just be Beauty and the Beast, right? I knew it wasn't in the back of my head. Oh, so mad! I had my bestie Westie. She was like, "Oh, that's interesting that you would think that he's an asshole." Usually everybody loves.
